Our team has a combined 30 years’ industry experience, and hold internationally recognised asbestos qualifications from the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS). As an IANZ approved laboratory to ISO/NZS 17025 for asbestos in bulk materials and soils, Analytix participates in the inter-laboratory proficiency testing scheme, AIMS, and consistently achieves and maintains the highest quality scores.

WHY USE ANALYTIX?
On the 4th April 2016, new regulations pertaining to asbestos were implemented under the ‘Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016’.
As part of these regulations, there is now an implicit duty under Regulation 11 – ‘Duty to Analyse Samples’ – to use only an accredited laboratory to undertake asbestos sample testing. The above regulation states:

- A PCBU with management or control of a workplace may identify asbestos or ACM by arranging for a sample of material at the workplace to be analysed for the presence of asbestos or ACM.
- If a PCBU with management or control of a workplace arranges for an analysis, the PCBU must ensure that the sample is analysed by an accredited laboratory.

Analytix guarantees all bulk samples received will be analysed in 48 hours or less from receipt (excluding soils). In most cases we deliver results in less than 24 hours.
Analytix can supply pre-paid postage bags (next day by noon delivery) for our national clients at no extra charge – instantly saving costs. Analytix also supplies pre-loaded air monitoring cowls for filter analysis at no additional cost.
In addition to being an accredited laboratory, Analytix only employs fully qualified asbestos laboratory analysts, holding as a minimum the BOHS P401 – Identification of Asbestos in Bulk Samples by PLM qualification. Our comprehensive procedures ensure you have total peace of mind that all asbestos within your submitted samples will be identified correctly – first time, every time! Gemma holds British occupational hygiene qualifications P401 & IP402 along with Institute of Occupational Health and Safety Managing Safety. Gemma has delivered high quality training, advice and consultancy to analysts and industry professionals both nationally and internationally across the environmental sector and is committed to delivering a tailored solution to fit the needs of our clients. Gemma has previously worked alongside local government, housing associations, universities, schools, banking and finance institutions, NHS trusts and district health boards, the hotel and leisure industry, demolition and construction companies, manufacturing, logistics and commercial businesses.
In 2016 Rob became a Director at Analytix after previously building over 8 years, a successful Occupational Health & Safety organisation in Christchurch.
Rob has built up a reputation over the years as a trusted industry thought leader, which sees him deliver business continuity and takes an active role in the performance of all contracts undertaken, ensuring from the outset that our capabilities and standards fit with our clients’ expectations.
Rob strength lies in his perseverance and determination to succeed where others fail and in building and maintaining lasting and genuine relationships. With a highly positive outlook Rob leads Analytix to continuing its tradition of excellence.
Joining our team with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Microbiology from Massey University, Bex is a Biochemist at heart with a passion for all things science. Her impressive resume includes being a licensed asbestos assessor and qualified drug and alcohol tester. With a curious and adventurous spirit, Bex enjoys travelling hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding, cooking and yoga when she’s outside the lab.
Quang holds a Master of Science from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom, and Bachelor of Science (Hanoi University of Science, Vietnam National University). Quang has vast experience in environmental science and chemistry testing, having previously worked as a chemistry laboratory researcher at Hanoi University of Technology, and an officer in the Department of International Cooperation and Science, Technology of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He has also worked as a Teaching Assistant with the University of Canterbury’s Civil and Natural Resources Engineering Department. Quang is currently undertaking a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Canterbury.
Our friendly numbers guru Emma joins Analytix with a Certificate in Business Administration and 6 years’ experience in a chartered accounting office – so she really knows her stuff! Emma’s expertise in accounts receivable ensures the Analytix office runs like a well-oiled machine, and she is currently completing a Diploma in Accounting. When she’s not studying or busy at work, Emma loves honing her skills on the guitar.
Bubbly Brooke is the baby of the bunch here at Analytix – and while she may be fresh to our team, she’s already proving herself to be invaluable as the first point of call for clients and customers! Excited to build a career in the office sector, Brooke’s outgoing personality is an asset to our office. When she’s not assisting clients, she travelling, or dancing up a storm at music festivals.
